Portarlington Syrah Large Format 90% Moorabool ValleyFrom eight rows of syrah on this coastal '94 planted site. Fully destemmed and matured in 33% new French barriques. A deep, bright purple. A touch closed with a few good swirls revealing a bouquet of dark fruits, black pepper and dark licorice notes. Already a joy to drink, this plushly fruited and nicely balanced wine still has the structure to warrant cellaring for another five to seven years plus. 96 Points Halliday.
