Each of the fragments have been manipulated into shape by hand and then hand stitched into the beautifully textured base

just as the hidden knots in the old oak trees do

Oak Burl Cushion hence the titleThe name of the cushion and corresponding artwork originates from the knots found in tree bark. The white strokes and hidden layers of vanilla and beige peek through, leading to the darker black markings which draw in the viewer, just as the hidden knots in the old oak trees do. The Oak Burl cushions create texture on their own, or they work beautifully when paired with the matching fine art canvas too, or work well against the other cushion designs
