Launched at the State Dockyard Newcastle on 28 May 1962, she served the Commonwealth Lighthouse Service for 27 years as a lighthouse supply tender and navigational aids maintenance vessel. The last surviving Cape Class vessel, and the only surviving ship of the entire CLS fleet. Part of the MV Cape Don series.
