This is one of my favorite pieces. I collected the wood on the Uncompahgre Plateau from a truly ancient tree that was likely over a thousand years old. It was dead having fallen over probably over 100 years ago. Much of the main trunk (almost 4 foot diameter) and several of the major root branches
