The scalloped edge can only be achieved when finished by hand, by the skilled glass makers at Jerpoint using an elaborate technique called the handkerchief effect. The handkerchief effect consist of flaring the rim outwards by spinning it, to a point where the rim cannot collapse back evenly but into scalloped edges. It takes many years of
