Chilkat Range at Night 2024 Calendar As we approached Sawyer Glacier

As we approached Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm from the top of the boat I captured the above scene

I watched this sequence happen a couple of times and towards the end of the second sequence zoomed into the fin to catch the water which was dripping down and off the fin

Waiting for the traffic to head into the scene I captured a thirty second exposure of a mixture of moving traffic as well as cars waiting for the light to change so they may be on their way in the early evening

Chilkat Range at Night 2024 Calendar As we approached Sawyer GlacierOn a November evening I headed to North Douglas and a vantage point that I knew you could see the Chilkat Range in the distance. Once again under a moonlight evening I used a long exposure to capture the scene. The stars you see in this image do not do it justice for what I saw just a 15 minute drive from downtown Juneau. From this vantage point the mountains are the boundary between the Lynn Canal and Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.
