After cutting out and shaping each flower petal, they were assembled to represent a flower. After the initial bisque firing, it was glazed with a special crystalline glaze where zinc crystals actually GROW during the firing and controlled cooling process. The gold effect was achieved using silver nitrate in the glaze. After the initial
